Dr. Dana Edwards
Dr. Dana Edwards is a native of Lynchburg, South Carolina. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education, a Master’s Degree in School Counseling, and a Doctorate’s Degree in Educational Leadership. Currently, she serves as the school counselor at an elementary school and has been in this capacity for over five years. She enjoys working with her students and spending time with her family and friends. They fuel her drive to write stories and to be successful.
Dr. Edwards was inspired to write children’s books for a variety of reasons. First, she wanted to bring awareness to the school counseling profession and the services school counselors could provide for students, staff members, families, and the community. Additionally, her goal is to help students learn coping skills to deal with difficult situations such as anger, conflict, and self-esteem. Furthermore, Dr. Edwards wanted to write stories where her students felt represented, inspired, and encouraged.
